Safety Tips

NaijaMart is committed to your safety. Follow these guidelines to protect yourself when buying and selling online.

⚠️
Important Warning
NaijaMart staff will NEVER ask for your password, OTP, or payment outside of the official platform. If anyone claiming to be NaijaMart asks for this, it is a scam — report it immediately to support@naijamart.com.

Meeting in Person

Always meet in a busy, well-lit public place — a bank lobby, shopping mall, or police station.
Bring a trusted friend or family member with you, especially for high-value items.
Meet during daylight hours, not late at night.
Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave immediately.
Inform someone you trust of where you are going and who you are meeting.

Avoiding Scams

Never pay upfront for an item before seeing it in person (unless using NaijaMart Escrow).
Be suspicious of prices that seem too good to be true.
Never share your OTP, PIN, or banking details with anyone.
Ignore any seller or buyer who asks you to communicate outside of NaijaMart.
Never send money via remittance (Western Union, MoneyGram) to buy items on NaijaMart.
Be wary of buyers who offer more than your asking price and ask you to ship first.

Protecting Your Account

Use a strong, unique password for your NaijaMart account.
Never share your password or login details with anyone.
Enable phone verification on your account.
Log out from shared or public devices after use.
Report suspicious accounts or listings to our team immediately.

Safe Payments

Use NaijaMart Escrow for all high-value transactions.
Only pay after inspecting the item (or confirming it with escrow).
Confirm payment in your own bank app — do not rely on screenshots as proof.
For large transactions, meet at a bank where you can confirm transfers on the spot.
Keep records of all transactions and communications.

Report a Problem

If you encounter a suspicious listing or user, report it immediately.
